Rajnath-SinghNew Delhi, August 9: head of the BJP, Rajnath Singh Friday said he raised the issue of clashes in Kishtwar town in Jammu region with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and assured that they would be brought under the control of sooon.


"Had a telephone conversation with PM Dr. Manmohan Singh regarding the outbreak of violent clashes in Kishtwar district of Jammu region," tweeted, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).


"The Prime Minister assured me that the situation would be quickly brought under control as the army was called in Kishtwar," he said.


A curfew was imposed, and two columns of army have been deployed in Kishtwar town in the region of Jammu, after about 500 people Friday for independence slogans, which led to clashes between the two communities.
