Salman-KhurshidSalman-KhurshidNew Delhi, August 7: External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said Wednesday the statement made by Defense Minister a. k. Antony on killing soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir is not contrary to and not the controversy.

«See the corrected version of the Indian army press release and compare it with the Minister of defence said this is exactly the same. I don't think that statement is contradictory. I read the statement carefully. At the moment, that was factual narrative that was available to him from the army, "said Khurshid.

He said that there is possibility of contradiction, that the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to create.

"There is no reason for controversy. Don't make controversy that makes us watch before Pakistan as House, disputes among themselves. BJP leaders should speak in the same voice, "he told news channel here.

Backing Antony, Khurshid said: "I say categorically that there could not be a better statement made it yesterday (Tuesday)."

"I don't think we should speculate. This situation ... You can't be selfish and all that we have said today (Tuesday) is the last word. There is more information that it will be considered.

"I will not give a forced statement that clear in itself and clearly the statement made with all the solemn responsibility of Parliament," he added.

Khurshid reacts to BJP demands, Anthony to apologize for a statement on Tuesday in which he said the attack on Indian troops was carried out by 20 heavily armed terrorists together with people in Pakistan.

Statement of the Ministry of defence, which was later withdrawn--said that the ambush was carried out by the action team of the border of Pakistan and also stated that Pakistan army was involved.

Border action team is made up of Pakistani army regulars and militia.

Anthony said his Tuesday statement was based on information available at that time and he would return to Parliament after an update from the main Army Gen Bikram Singh, who visited Jammu region a day after the incident.
