Salman-KhurshidNew Delhi, August 8: External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid Thursday said that this is not the right time to say something about the September meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the meeting, planned by the UN General Assembly.

"Not in a position today to say nothing, because this is not the time or the atmosphere in which we have to discuss the negotiations. There will be a lot of work needed, if we are to talk ... but it will be positive, we have to look at it, "Khurshid said.

"We will wait for the appropriate time. All inputs must be held, then we can take the challenge, "he said.

Khurshid said that the Prime Minister was not distancing himself from any issue.

"The Prime Minister or Prime Minister will never distance from the Prime Minister. We have a job to do, and we do so under the supervision and guidance of the Prime Minister.

"We, as members of the Cabinet are doing things that are specifically assigned to us. The Prime Minister is the overall incharge. All that we do, finally, go back to him and he would approve. If he thinks what we do wrong ... It will tell us that this is not acceptable. But we cannot not take responsibility, given to us and then leave it to the Prime Minister ... is not correct, "Khurshid told news channel here.

He added that Defense Minister a. k. Anthony did honest work.

"He (Anthony) did an honest job. Parliament wanted the statement by the Minister of defence, too quickly, and he made a statement, which was based on information that was available. Information that is available in two hours is different from the information that is visible after 48 hours and 12:0 am.»

Khurshid was responding after Antony is crisp in Parliament made a statement the killings Tuesday of five Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir.
