new-skoda-octaviaNew Delhi, August 9: Czech car manufacturer Skoda Friday once again his luxury sedan Octavia by passenger vehicle of the third generation version.


The vehicle was discontinued after the year 2010 as the second generation version of the vehicle did not meet emissions requirements.

The new luxury sedan is produced at the company's plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, where the firm, other products such as Superb, Yeti and Laura are manufactured.


According to the company the third generation is the largest, safest and most environmentally friendly version of Octavia. Between November 2001 and October 2010 the company sold 44.900 Octavias.


The company further stated that Octavia is a key product in its big growth strategies to increase annual sales to at least 1.5 million units.


The company, which is present in the Indian market in the year 2001, said that it had increased sales by 14.2% to more than 30000 units in 2012.


"In the first seven months of 2013 only Czechs sold car in the subcontinent 13800. This means that about 178.300 Škodam were delivered to the Indian consumers from 2001 onwards and at the end of July 2013, "the statement added.
